	BELMONT PARK

Belmont Park is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, N.Y. There will be two race meetings at Belmont Park in 2006: the 59-day Spring/Summer meeting will be from May 3 to July 22; and the 33-day Fall Championship meeting will be from Sept. 8 to Oct. 22. Belmont Park is the home of the 143rd Running of the Belmont Stakes on June 11, 2011.

Handicapped parking is available near the Clubhouse and Grandstand. Parking is on a first-come first-serve basis after the official opening of the parking gates. Courtesy Shuttle Bus service is available from all general parking areas.


	ADMISSION

Gates Open at 11 a.m. (except on Belmont Stakes Day)

Grandstand Admission: $3 (Belmont Stakes Day: $10).
Clubhouse Admission: $5 (Belmont Stakes Day: $20).
Children under 12 are free when accompanied with an adult.


	ATTIRE

Elegant attire has long been a tradition at Belmont Park. Ladies and Gentlemen who honor this tradition are always appreciated.
People 12 years and over must abide by the dress code.
Paddock & Winner’s Circle No shorts or abbreviated wear permitted. Gentlemen – collared shirts required.

Box Seats
Gentlemen: Suits or sports jackets (tie optional).
Ladies: Dresses, skirts or slack outfits. Absolutely no shorts or jeans.

Grandstand
Shirts and shoes required.

Clubhouse (General)
Proper attire at management’s discretion.
No short shorts, cut-offs or abbreviated wear permitted.
Gentlemen – No tank tops.

Garden Terrace Restaurant
Elegant attire is recommended: Gentlemen should wear suits or sports jackets. Ladies should wear dresses, skirts or pant suits. No jeans, shorts or abbreviated wear is permitted.
Business casual is acceptable attire: Gentlemen are required to wear collared shirts. Suits or sports jackets are optional. No jeans, shorts or abbreviated wear permitted. Management reserves the right to use its discretion to determine acceptable attire.
Exception: On Belmont Stakes Day, Saturday, June 11, 2011, the following Dress Code applies in the Garden Terrace: Gentlemen are required to wear suits or sports jackets; Ladies are required to wear dresses, skirts or pant suits.

Clubhouse
Proper attire at discretion of management. No abbreviated attire. Gentlemen may not wear tank tops.


	COOLERS

Fans may bring coolers into the backyard of the grandstand at Belmont Park. Coolers will not be allowed in any other area at the track. Glass containers will not be allowed to be brought into the track. As in the past, fans can bring in coolers containing cans or plastic bottles.

All coolers will be subject to search by NYRA security.

No coolers of any kind will be permitted in the buildings, including all seating areas, or on the apron of the track.

Fans with coolers should enter the track at either the paddock or west end admission gates. Coolers will not be allowed through the clubhouse gate.

NOTE: On Belmont Stakes Day, Saturday, June 11, 2011, no alcoholic beverages of any kind will be permitted to be brought into the facility. The restriction regarding alcohol has been enacted in the interest of patron safety and in an attempt to make sure that people drink responsibly.


	TRACK SERVICES

Barber Shop
The Barber Shop is open from Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Binocular Rentals
Located on the second floor Clubhouse adjacent to the escalator and the first floor Grandstand opposite the Press elevator.

ATM Machines
For your convenience, ATM machines are at the following locations:
* First floor Grandstand near the end mutuel window closest to finish line.
* Second floor Grandstand opposite the Belmont Grill.
* Second floor Clubhouse opposite the Clubhouse elevator.
*Third floor Clubhouse opposite the Clubhouse escalator.
*Fourth floor Clubhouse opposite the Turf & Field Room.

Coat Check
At the binocular stands located on the second floor Clubhouse adjacent to the escalator and the first floor Grandstand opposite the Press elevator.

Personal Handicapping Stations
Located on the first and second floor Clubhouse, the Personal Handicapping Stations offer serious handicappers their privacy with personal desktops and televisions. Cost is $3 per day; tickets may be purchased at the second floor Customer Service Information Booth.

Race Replay Centers
Located on the second floor in the Clubhouse and Grandstand.

First Aid
Located in the basement.

Lost and Found
Located in the Security Office in the basement.


	BELMONT BROADCASTING

Thoroughbred Action, the half-hour race-replay show, or Inside Racing, the weekly half-hour magazine show, are broadcast daily on Fox Sports New York.

Thoroughbred Action replays races and shows results and payoffs for each New York raceday.

Inside Racing includes timely features and races of the week; it is broadcast on non-racedays during the month.

	BREAKFAST AT BELMONT

Enjoy a leisurely trackside breakfast while watching the horses breeze through their morning workouts as Mary Ryan announces the action on the track. Then take a free 20-minute guided tram tour through the barn area (weather permitting). Participate in a Starting Gate demonstration. Finally a Paddock Show will teach you about a typical day in the life of a Thoroughbred. Offered weekends and most holidays during the spring meeting (May 1 to July 18) and through the end of Fall Championship which starts on September 11, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Low-cost breakfast fare is available. Weekday accommodations are available for groups.

Belmont Park is cleared at the conclusion of the Breakfast at Belmont Program. Patrons who wish to attend the afternoon's races are charged admission upon re-entering when the gates open at 11 a.m.


	CASHING MUTUEL TICKETS BY MAIL

Winning pari-mutuel tickets from all races conducted in 2010 at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course must be cashed on or before March 31, 2011. They can be cashed during any race day at Belmont Park or at Aqueduct. You cannot cash winning NYRA mutuel tickets at any other racetrack or OTB.

It is advised that you keep copies for your records.

For winnings that exceed 300-1 odds - more than $600 - the Internal Revenue Service requires that a W2-G Tax Form is completed. This form requires two proofs of identity: 1, Copy of Driver's License; and 2, Copy of Social Security Card or a card that establishes your identity and includes your social security number.


	NEW RULE FOR UNCASHED TICKETS

Effective January 1, 2009, pari-mutuel tickets not cashed within 10 days of purchase that have a value of $300 or more must be redeemed at IRS-designated mutuel windows. The patron needs to provide a name, home address, date of birth and social security number. This requirement is part of a new rule that was opposed by The New York Racing Association, but still implemented by the New York State Racing & Wagering Board. Please note that unless the payout on the ticket is 300-1 or higher and in excess of $600, the patron’s information will not be reported to the IRS. The same requirements apply for tickets cashed by mail that meet these parameters.
